PREMONITION'S ORDER
In Alex's premonition of the plane crashing, the first person to die was Tod Wagnner. The next would have been Terry Chaney, followed by Ms. Valerie Lewton, Carter Horton, Billy Hiychcock, Clear Rivers, and finally Alex Browning. Although the way they died in the premonition is unimportant, most of them met their ends by burning. After waking up from his vision, and being completely terrified, Alex freaks out and gets off the plane. Six other people got off with him, thus escaping death. However, because of this, Death created a design to finish off the survivors of Flight 180.
DEATH'S NEW ORDER
Tod Waggner DIED; stragulation
While taking down some laundry from the clothesline stung across his bathtub, Tod slips on some leaking water. Falling forward, he lands in the bathtub after pulling out one side of the clothesline in his fall. The wire whips around his neck as he struggles to get out of the bathtub, and he slowly suffocates as his feet slip around in soap and shampoo. After a short struggle, Tod is finally strangled to death, and his death is labelled a suicide. CLUES: Alex throws his magazine at an owl, but it gets shredded up in some fan blades. A piece of the paper flutters onto Alex, and as he reads it, the remaining letters spell “Tod”.
Terry Chaney DIED; crushed by oncoming bus
After an argument with her boyfriend Carter about beating on Alex every time they see each other, Terry backs into a street and turns in time to see a speeding bus that splatters her across the street. CLUES: Moments before, while Clear and Alex are talking to each other at the café, Alex notices the reflection of a passing bus, but when he turns to look at it, the bus isn’t there.
Valerie Lewton DIED; multiple stabbings
Still grieving over her fellow teacher’s death on Flight 180, Val begins to pack up her possessions as she prepares to move away from Mt. Abraham. As she pours herself some vodka in a mug, she fails to notice that the mug is cracked. She wanders into the living room, leaving a trail of the vodka behind her as she goes. As she leans over her computer monitor, the flammable alcohol drips into the monitor, causing it to spark and begin sizzling. As she looks up to see what’s going on, the monitor explodes, sending a deadly shard of glass flying into her neck. She yanks the shard out and stumbles into the kitchen as the sparks hit the trail of alcohol, igniting it. The flames follow her back into the kitchen and hit the vodka bottle, blowing it up and spreading flames everywhere as Val lands on the floor. As she attempts to grab a dish towel, she doesn’t realize that it is draped over a knife block. She yanks on the towel, the knife block topples over, and a knife falls, landing in her chest. As Alex rushes in to try to save her, another explosion erupts and causes a chair to topple over onto the hilt of the knife, lodging the knife deeper into Ms Lewton, killing her. CLUES: As Alex is heading over to Val’s house, he passes a man burning leaves. As several flaming leaves dance around him, he realizes it’s a clue and rushes to Val’s house. While Alex is watching TV, a program about leaky gas stoves comes on, hinting at the exploding stove in Ms Lewton's house.
Carter Horton SKIPPED; pulled from car by Alex
Billy Hitchcock DIED; decapitated by loose train piece
After Carter’s car is maimed by a speeding train, the remaining survivors argue while standing next to the tracks. Billy tells Carter to leave him alone and turns just as a piece of scrap metal from Carter’s car gets whipped up by a chain from the train, sending the sharp shred of metal flying at Billy’s head. It slices his head in half, sending the top half flying into a ditch. CLUES: Clues/ Notes: While in Carter's car, Alex sees the reflection of a train in his window, even though they are not near any train tracks at the time.
NOTE: Clear was almost killed when her car exploded due to a livewire, but Alex intervened.
IT'S OVER... OR IS IT?
After apparently saving Clear from electrocution, and then being brought back to life by paramedics, Alex believes that Death has been stopped. Six months later, he, Clear, and Carter soon discover that it ISN'T over after all. Those who survived their 'deaths' were not skipped... not permanently anyway. The three come to find out that they were only moved to the end of the list. After months of intervening each other's deaths... the new order is the following: Alex, Carter, and Clear.
Alex Browning SKIPPED; pushed away by Carter
Carter Horton DIED; falling sign
Alex leaves in a panic after figuring that Death hasn’t come after him yet, Carter yanks him out of the way of a giant swinging billboard sign that was loosened in a chain of sudden events. As Carter shouts to Alex about who could be next, the giant sign swings back and maims Carter, killing him. CLUES: The sign that kills Carter said, Le Miro 81, but when it fell, the part that fell said o 81 but when it swung down at Carter, it was backwards and read 180.
Over the following year, it is said that Alex and Clear, with the latter being next on the list after Carter's death, went on escaping Death every chance they got. During this time, Alex Browning is not so lucky, and ends up being killed by severe head trauma caused by a single brick. Not to long after, Clear was placed in a mental asylum, hoping that she would be safe there.
